Oak Harbor Kiwanis

We greatly appreciate Oak Harbor Kiwanis' contribution of books for the families we serve on Whidbey Island.  These books will be used during our home visits and in the classroom.  Developing early literacy and learning skills at a young age prepares them for life long success in school and in life.  We utilize books to encourage children to build their vocabulary, identify familiar objects by pointing, and remain engaged in a social activity with their peer and/or family.

Family experience…. “My son went in for an Autism screening in early September and was found to have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  His main form of communication was to screech and act out when we couldn’t understand what he needed.  The therapist were wonderful and helped us and my son learn better forms of communication while helping him connect his vocabulary to everyday use.”

We would like to thank Puget Sound Energy Foundation for presenting TLC with a $2,000 grant.   This grant will allow TLC to purchase Comprehensive Emergency Preparedness Survival Kits for our TLC building and home visit vehicles.

Officer's Spouses Club of Whidbey Island

We would like to thank Officer's Spouses Club of Whidbey Island for their generous contribution. We were able to purchase much needed outdoor equipment (playhouse, water table, and roller coaster).  This equipment will be available for the children and families we serve in our preschool class as well as the Mother Mentors Playscape North Group that meets at our location on Fridays.

Tulalip Tribes Charitable Contribution Fund

We would like to thank Tulalip Tribes Charitable Contributions Fund for their grant. We will use these funds to update our equipment (computer systems, software, and monitors) to meet the technology requirements to remain in compliance and to continue providing direct services to families on Whidbey Island.
