What is developmental screening?

Why should I do a developmental screening with my child?

Developmental screening is a quick look at all the ways a child is learning and growing. Screening is a little like wearing a seat belt – it’s good for all children, available, free, and easy to do. Early and regular screening helps you track your child’s milestones.

What screening tool are you using?

The Ages & Stages Questionnaire is a common tool used across the country to screen many areas of child development (such as social/emotional, physical, communication, and learning). This tool gives a quick look at how infants and children (up to 6 years old) are doing. The ASQ is easy to use, fun for caregivers and children to complete, and has been used with thousands of children. Providers can score the results in just minutes and share the information with caregivers about next steps
